Lesley Vars joined W. P. Carey’s Legal Transactions Department in 2021 and currently serves as Vice President and Transaction Counsel. Lesley works with our Investments and Asset Management teams to negotiate and draft transaction documentation related to the full life-cycle of our investments. 

Prior to joining W. P. Carey, Lesley was a Senior Product Manager for LexisNexis Practical Guidance. Before joining Lexis, Lesley was a Senior Associate at Reed Smith LLP where she worked primarily on W. P. Carey matters. Lesley began her legal career as an Associate in the real estate group of Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP.
 

Lesley earned a B.A. in American Studies from Hamilton College and a J.D. and M.B.A. from the University of Miami.
